Default Overheating problem

i've been playing GW since it's release and have had no significant problems with my comp. in the past couple of weeks however i have noticed that my comp is running hotter when i play long sessions (4-5 hrs). i regularly vaccum my box every couple of weeks. i'm running a "tweaked" dell 4600 with a 3ghz P4 (non-HT), 1 gig of ram, nvidia 5700 optima LE. my fans are the stock units from dell and i have no dedicated sound card. i usually run vent during the game. is this normal? has the game gotten that much bigger with the updates that it could affect my comp?

A processor can only be used up to 100%, not any more than that & if you get overheating problems that means your cooling is not enough.

Fans could be getting dust on them or be old which means less effective, the diod(?) that reports temp could be faulty/getting old also (or moved while you vacumed).

Also I do hope you dont use a regular (metal) vacum tubing when you "regularly vaccum your box every couple of weeks" (static electricity is a bitch to components).

How do you determine temperture? (Bios reporting , win program etc or errors in windows?).

(Also new cpu:s (central processing unit) get less effective when they get hotter & thereby reduce temperture. I have a tomshardware clip where they tested lifting OFF the cooling "block" from different cpu:s while running Doom3. I remmember all P4:s having this protection).
